Can electrical noise or other transmissions cause Lodar to start by mistake?
A.
No. We use a digital coding system, asking the Receiver to recognise a specific code from the Transmitter
Q.
Could any other Transmitters work my Receiver?
A.
No. Each system is individually coded
Q.
What batteries are used?
A.
The Standard Transmitter uses 1 x 9v PP3 Alkaline Battery
The Mini Transmitter uses 2 x 6v CR2032 Coin Cells
The IP Transmitter uses 4 x 1.5v AAA Alkaline Batteries
Q.
Are there two systems, one for 12 volt and one for 24 volt?
A.
No - the Receiver works from 7 volts through to 32 volts
Q.
How long does the battery last in the Transmitter?
A.
It depends on its usage, but typically 4-6 months
It will be a little less for the Mini Transmitters
Q.
How do I know when to replace the battery?
A.
The operational range will get shorter
Q.
Will we interfere with other emergency systems?
A.
No. Anyway, the digital coding system keeps control of that issue
Q.
How long does it take to fit a Dual Function Lodar?
A.
4 fixing bolts, 4 connections! Go to “Downloads” and view wiring instructions
Q.
Will extreme heat or cold effect Lodar?
A.
The system has been tested down to - 10Deg C and up to + 85 Deg C. It will work in colder conditions,
down to - 30 Deg C but the range will be slightly reduced
Q.
What happens if I lose my Transmitter?
A.
Contact the person who sold you the unit, or one of our Distributors, quoting the Model and Serial
number on the Receiver. A new Transmitter can be on its way to you in hours
Q.
Does the equipment meet all the industry standards?
A.
Yes. We obtain all the necessary approvals of the countries in which we sell Lodar
Q.
What is the maximum range?
A.
We guarantee a minimum range with each model although you may well get a greater distance;
it depends on the circumstances. For full information on each Model please refer to the Product Manual/Documents
Index/Spec Sheets. The maximum range we can achieve with a standard product is 1000ft(300m) although by using a
Yargi aerial we can get to a mile with line of sight
Q.
Is Lodar waterproof?
A
The IP Series Transmitter and Receivers are totally waterproof to IP67. This means they can be submerged under
3ft(1m) of water for 1 hour without any ingress
